This unitized curtainwall project was designed, fabricated and installed by the Anderson Aluminum team, for the new Nationwide Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Pavilion, which is slated to open in 2020. The exterior for this project includes over 100,000 square feet of unitized curtainwall built with a complex pattern of pre-cast concrete.
The design incorporated various silk-screen glass patterns along with integral blinds, lexan and tamper proof hardware – a transformative building to protect children with behavioral health issues. The Behavioral Health Pavilion will be the largest behavioral health hospital in the nation, treating children in outpatient programs for mood and anxiety disorders, general psychiatric issues, family-based treatment and much more. Built nine stories high, the pavilion will have 48 inpatient beds for three units, a 16-bed youth crisis stabilization unit, 10-bed psychiatric crisis center, a family resource center, rooftop play area, and worship, meditation, teaching and conference spaces.
We are proud to have worked on such a pivotal and momentous project with inspiring partners like Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Turner Construction and NBBJ.
