CNC Machinist

CNC Operators are highly skilled professionals able to work with great concentration and precision. They must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines, have a keen eye for detail and a great mechanical aptitude is essential.  The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.


  • Perform the daily operations of a 3 axis CNC (Elumatec), Rhino Fabrication CNC, MultiCam table router 
  • Perform quality inspections using the proper calibrated measuring devices and complete quality records
  • Troubleshoot machines for issues
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformance including shutting down equipment if necessary
  • Follow established set-up procedures/modify procedures when necessary
  • Program the CNC if needed
  • Set-up the CNC and support equipment for each project
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference plans, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters
  • Plan stock inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available
  • Anticipate needed stock and notify appropriate supervisor of stock needed
  • Set up tools, attachments, collets. bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers – indicating vices as necessary
  • Load feeding mechanism by lifting stock into position
  • Verify settings by checking all available information
  • Maintain specifications by observing all moving parts and adjusting/reprogramming/replacing what is necessary
  • Sustain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Perform preventative maintenance requirements
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work shifts
  • Complete production and quality logs
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities and add value to job accomplishments
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Flexibility to help wherever needed


  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Experience operating CNC equipment preferred
  • Must have conceptual skills, functional and technical skills
  • Process improvement capabilities, supply management skills and inventory control
  • Needs good verbal communication skills
  • Experience with power tools
  • Attention to Detail
  • Lifting heavy materials of up to 50+ pounds

Work Hours:

  • First shift positions from 6:30am-3:00pm
  • Second shift positions from 3:00pm-11:00pm
  • Overtime opportunities available
